The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of nearly 16,000 professional women of color in 288 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. The Links Foundation, Incorporated, the philanthropic arm of The Links, Incorporated, has made more than $25 million in charitable contributions since its founding in 1979. The Patuxent River (MD) Chapter (PRC) of The Links, Incorporated is a group of 57 women of color who are accomplished leaders in their respective career fields of law, business, medicine, education, technology, engineering, and health. Since its inception, PRC has shared personal resources and skills to provide transformational programming and services that enrich the quality of life of the residents of Upper Montgomery County. As residents of Montgomery County, our main focus is to serve our community while fostering collaboration with local leaders and businesses who share the same goal of building strong communities. PRC’s community work is consistent with the Links national organization’s five facets of Services to Youth, National Trends and Service, International Trends and Services, The Arts, and Health and Human Services.
