Awards

The Patuxent River (MD) Chapter of the Links Incorporated, is honored to have received numerous awards for our work in the community. We started off January receiving a “Community Service Award” from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated and last month we won two awards at the Eastern Area Conference. The American Cancer Society awarded the Patuxent River (MD) Chapter the "Outstanding Community Service Award."  We had the 2nd largest certified number of ambassadors in the Eastern Area with eight members of the chapter who received certificates for completion of the Health Equity Ambassador Training Program. And best of all Link Sisters, the Eastern Area of The Links, Incorporated awards the Patuxent River, (MD) Chapter the "Programming at its Best Award” and a certificate for its Umbrella Program, G.E.M.S. of Germantown.  Below please find pictures from these events.

Eastern Area Links Conference Awards

• April 2017 – We won 2nd place for Umbrella Programs and we were one of three chapters who won the health ambassadors award for having the most health ambassadors! The award reads “Outstanding Community Service Award!” We are so honored for this recognition by the Eastern Area of The Links, Incorporated, especially as a young chapter, at the time we were just three years old!
